Q: Tell us how you select your officers. A: Initially, it’s based on longevity of service and dedication. But it’s important to pick the right officers for needed positions and purpose and not just create an officer position for promotional reasons. I look for those who are willing to do a lot for the guild before any promotion occurs.
Q: Any unique events or interesting stories regarding LoV? A: Yeah, there are lots but one of the most memorable was that one time we wanted to influence the people working at NCSoft/CoH because of the impending nerfs. So we order pizza to be delivered to their California office in hopes of changing their minds. Another memorable experience was when Mechnoid was deployed to Iraq. It was nice and touching to see the support and well wishes in the forum and emails.
Q: How do you maintain your guild morale and interest high? A: This is tough. Keep the guild motivated with events and activity. We are a group of close friends. So by working on the friendships we have established, we keep our guild members together. We even have a section on the forums where we get into discussion of really personal things and we try to help each other out. Otherwise, continue to have goals and follow through with your goals.
Q: This is a personal and optional question. But I have found it fascinating to learn more about the guild leader in real life. So what is your RL profession and your age? A: I don’t have a problem with that. I think some of this is relevant to our success. I am 40 years old and my profession is a Fire Department Paramedic. I think after seeing real life emergent crises and problems, things that occur in game are relatively easier to resolve.
